Ethics in the digital workplace
Digitisation and automation technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI), can affect working conditions in a variety of ways and their use in the workplace raises a host of new ethical concerns.

Florépi, a company specialising in the production of industrial pastries and their marketing, has announced 166 job cuts in Villeneuve-sur-Aisne. Placed in receivership on January 31 by the Saint-Quentin Commercial Court, the industrial pastry manufacturer was officially liquidated this Friday, April 25, 2025. Its buyer, the Hafner company, is going to keep 3 jobs out of 169.
Hafner announced the acquisition of all the assets of the Villeneuve-sur-Aisne company for €958,333. The decision is justified by an economic reason. Officially, the premises can still be occupied until July 31, 2025, but the work of the 51 "proven technical skills" manufacturing agents, the 21 preparers, the 8 packaging inspectors, the 5 administrative assistants, the 31 manufacturing agents, the 5 maintenance technicians, and the two manufacturing managers will soon be over.
